Howdy, I’m Erek! Video game fan first, content creator second.

I’ve been a gamer for as long as I can remember. Like every other kid in the mid-90s, I put in countless hours with Super Mario 64, aimlessly wandering through the paintings in Peach’s castle. Those first few years were magic. But everything changed the day I rented Final Fantasy VII. That game completely changed how I viewed the act of playing, showing me how emotional, meaningful and genuinely memorable an experience could be.

My love for immersive worlds, unforgettable characters, and emotional storytelling is what first drew me to RPGs & JRPGs. What keeps me coming back to this day is the community—sharing those experiences, exploring why they resonate, and connecting with others who felt them too.

Aside from gaming, I’m also a lifelong creative, musician and audio engineer. My journey through the years has seen me cover video game music through my personal project Retro Game Remix, collaborate with well-known content creators and developers, and contribute music to soundtracks for titles such as Hotshot Racing and Horizon Shift.

Somewhere along the way though, my focus shifted from participating in the conversations, to leading them. My YouTube channel has been my sole focus for the last few years, growing it steadily from the ground-up to what it is today.

The focus of the channel is around creating deep-dive retrospectives, heartfelt discussions, and community-driven ranking videos that celebrate what makes a role-playing game special. While the format may change, the intention stays the same: it’s all about encouraging open dialogue, inviting different perspectives, and building a space where people can connect (even if I am called an ‘FF7 fanboy’ at least twice weekly in the comments... guilty as charged!).

With over 18,000 subscribers, more than 2 million views, and consistent weekly uploads, my channel has become a welcoming space for both longtime RPG fans and those discovering the genre for the first time.

That same sense of connection extends beyond the channel itself. I’ve brought my thoughtful and enthusiastic presentations to both gaming panels and conventions IRL, and have cultivated a wholesome, supportive and dedicated community through my Discord server with members who chat and share digital life together on the daily.

At the heart of it all, I’m just a dad, creative and human who loves great games and the joy that comes from playing them. My goal with the brand is straightforward: have fun, celebrate meaningful experiences, and help others discover stories they’ll fall in love with for years to come.

Community isn’t an afterthought here. It’s the foundation. :)
